Update: I’m sorry to report that Cateran Camping will be closed for the foreseeable future. We hope to be able to re-open in 2020. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Our thanks to all who have supported us, and to those lovely people who have come and enjoyed camping in our beautiful part of the world.

We would like to welcome you to Cateran Camping at Kilry on the Cateran Trail.

Cateran Camping is a tranquil haven in the picturesque hill farming countryside between Glen Isla and Alyth, with the Cateran Trail passing our door. It is an ideal base for exploring the Glens of Angus and Perthshire.

While staying here you can enjoy being off the “beaten track”and close to beautiful wild spaces, while still being within easy reach of local places of interest, such Glamis Castle, Barrie’s Birthplace in Kirriemuir, and the traditional market towns of Alyth and Blairgowrie. You may want to cycle the quiet local roads and trails, walk, watch birds, forage,  picnic next to the River Isla at nearby Reekie Linn, or spend a tranquil day fishing on nearby Lintrathen Loch. The area offers a wealth of possibilities.

We would like to share our beautiful corner of the world with others who are looking for a low tech/low impact way to enjoy our big skies and rolling views. Sitting around a campfire and enjoying starry skies, or getting up early to the sounds of the birds are all pleasures that we would like to share with our guests.

This is a young and developing campsite, so facilities are limited. In 2016 we can offer an eco toilet and mains water. More facilities will follow.
